The report explores the effectiveness of different MUAC cutoffs in identifying malnourished children. Conducted by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) with support from UNICEF, the study analyzes data from the 2018-2019 Expanded National Nutrition Survey. It aims to improve the accuracy of MUAC measurements to ensure timely and effective treatment for wasted children in the Philippines. The findings suggest that current MUAC cutoffs are inadequate and propose new cutoffs to enhance detection and intervention.
