This report evaluates the progress of the Philippines in achieving youth-relevant targets of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the Longitudinal Cohort Study on the Filipino Child (LCSFC). The LCSFC tracks a nationally representative cohort of Filipino children from age 10 in 2016 to age 24 in 2030, assessing the impact of the SDGs on their transition from childhood to young adulthood.

Data is collected on the cohort, their parents, households, and barangays, covering 13 of the 17 SDGs. The study period includes significant milestones in the cohort’s life, with data from 2016 to 2021 highlighting their pubertal experiences and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The report focuses on select indicators for Goals 1 through 5, which are crucial for youth human capital formation. These indicators are tracked from 2016 to 2021 and are stratified by sex, urban-rural residence, and island group (Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao). The findings provide insights into the cohort’s development and the challenges faced during the pandemic.
