Republic Act No. 10028, known as the "Expanded Breastfeeding Promotion Act of 2009," was enacted by the Republic of the Philippines in March 2010. This legislation builds upon the foundation laid by Republic Act No. 7600, aiming to enhance the promotion of breastfeeding across the country. It introduces amendments to encourage both government and private health institutions to adopt rooming-in and breastfeeding practices more broadly.

By doing so, the act strengthens the incentives for implementing breastfeeding-friendly environments, recognizing the paramount importance of breastfeeding in the development and health of infants and young children. The act underscores the government's commitment to public health by supporting and expanding breastfeeding practices nationwide.
