Republic Act No. 11053, known as the Anti-Hazing Act of 2018, was enacted to strengthen the laws against hazing in the Philippines. It expands the definition of hazing to include any initiation rite that results in physical or psychological harm, and imposes stricter penalties on those involved, including organizers, participants, and those who attempt to cover up such activities. The law also requires schools, fraternities, sororities, and organizations to report initiation rites and to take preventive measures to protect members from hazing-related harm.
