Republic Act No. 11210, known as the 105-Day Expanded Maternity Leave Law, was enacted in 2019 to provide working mothers in the Philippines with 105 days of paid maternity leave for live childbirth, with an additional 15 days for solo mothers. It also allows for 7 days of leave to be transferred to fathers.

This law positively impacts mothers by giving them extended time to recover from childbirth and bond with their newborns without the financial strain of losing income. For children, it ensures that they receive the necessary care and attention during the crucial early stages of life, which supports better health and development outcomes.
