According to the Southeast Asia Primary Learning Metrics (SEA-PLM) 2019 National Report of the Philippines,  Grade 5 students who attended an ECE program perform better in reading, writing, and mathematics tests. However, the benefits of ECE attendance are also evident in children’s school readiness, entry at the right primary school starting age, and grade progression.

This policy brief series presents data and policy recommendations to enhance children’s learning performance, using learning outcomes for Grade 5 learners from the SEA-PLM 2019 in the Philippines.
